Work Experience

As part of our Preparation for Adulthood focus throughout school, we work towards opportunities for our students to experience the world of work through work experience placements where appropriate.

Where possible work experience placements will happen in the local community of Stockport. Previously Heaton School has been very lucky to partner with several external organisations including:

• Reddish Vale Community Farm
• Charmwood Nursery
• Houldsworth Mill Cafe
• Stockport Food Bank
• Stockport Plaza Theatre

Currently, and post-Covid times, we are working at rebuilding links with these partners as well as working with new partners and expanding our work experience offer.

For those students for who external work experience isn't appropriate we have lots of work-related activities happening within school which include charity projects, Enterprise activities, cafes, planning for events etc.
