Uniform
The school has a policy of compulsory school uniform for pupils in Lower School (11-16 years).
It consists of a fleece/jacket, sweat shirt/cardigan and polo shirt in school colours of maroon and gold. These are available from the school, as are white PE T-shirts.
Students should wear Black or Grey Trousers, Shorts or Skirt but are not purchased from school.
Students in Extended Education (16–19) years may wear clothes of their own choice.
It is hoped that attention will be paid to the appropriateness of clothing in keeping with the age of the pupil and the activity being pursued. At 14 years pupils increasingly experience outdoor pursuits (where appropriate) in the curriculum.
Strong boots/ shoes, socks and waterproof clothing should be provided by parents.
There may be requests for other specialist clothing during the pupils time at Heaton, e.g. Forest Schools, food technology overall.
All items of clothing should be named – we are unable to take responsibility for lost garments of clothing.
The following is also required:
- Shorts, White PE T-shirt, track suit, trainers for P.E.
- Swimming trunks/ costume and towel.
A School bag is essential and should contain:
- Pencil Case and Writing materials – where appropriate
- Incontinence / spare clothing supplies (where appropriate)
- Toilet Bag / Tissues
- Hat / Coat (when appropriate)
