Therapy at Heaton school

At Heaton school we work closely with our therapy team to ensure that individual needs are met.  Our Speech and Language Therapy Team comprise of Hayley and Emma and Jess (SaLT assistant). Speech and Language Therapy provision at Heaton School continues to be provided by the Together Trust and commissioned by Stockport Local Authority.

The speech and language therapy team support the creation of communication friendly environments, provide training to the staff team to support embedding of communication targets into learning, and to support the establishment of appropriate and effective communication systems for students. The therapy team is also involved with target setting for students alongside their class teachers, and provide written annual review reports for students who are in Year 9 and at the point of transition whilst at Heaton School. Fond farewell!

This week we said our goodbyes to Debbie Watson. Debbie is retiring after 24 years of service at Heaton school and has been an amazing, devoted member of staff who always has students at the heart of everything she does. She will be missed by all students and staff and we wish Debbie every happiness in her retirement. Today we marked Debbie's leaving in assembly.
