Heaton news WB 6th Nov

Date: 10th Nov 2023 @ 4:54pm

At Heaton school we celebrate diversity. We have some staff and students who observe the festival Diwali so this week students have been learning all about the Hindu Festival through taking part in a variety of different activities. Classes started the week by cleaning their classrooms. In food technology some groups prepared food such as Dahl and chapattis and all  students enjoyed tasting the food and socialising with each other. On Thursday students engaged in an arts and crafts morning in the drama studio where they made salt dough diva lamps and cards. The students also enjoyed the lights and exploring sensory resources. WithIn drama, the students have been learning ‘Bollywood’ style dancing and celebrating Diwali. The week of celebrations ended with a celebration assembly in the hall.
