Heaton news - WB 26th January

At Heaton School we take pride in the way our curriculum promotes functional skill development whilst accessing our local community.
This week students from our Cheadle site have been practicing their lifeskills through going to a Stockport cafe travelling on the bus to Stockport.

Elles class have taken an opportunity to access the local library to engage in reading linked to this terms topic - 'Imaginary worlds and make believe'

Brydies class have enjoyed a walk out in the local community whilst visiting the shop and enjoyed a drink and snack in the local cafe.

You may recall from a blog post earlier this term that teachers have been developing how they promote play within lessons to help students obtain key skills. Colins class have been using play this week to promote independence, communication, positive social interaction with others and brilliant sharing.

Reminder to all Parents/Carers ...
We are experiencing a high level of student and staff sickness at present within school. If your child is showing signs of being unwell we ask that you keep them off until they are feeling better. This will help to minimise the spread of bugs and germs throughout the school.
Have your Say - PFA
Stockport Authority are inviting parents, carers, young people with SEND, professionals, and partner organisations to share their views on Stockport’s draft Preparing for Adulthood (PFA) strategy. This strategy sets out how we will support young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) as they move into adulthood, from ages 14-25.
Your feedback is essential to make sure the strategy reflects real experiences, meets diverse needs, and leads to positive outcomes.
