Heaton News WB 4th March
Date: 8th Mar 2024 @ 4:08pm
Thursday 7th March was World Book Day. This is a national event where students from around the country recognise the importance of reading and books. On Thursday, students enjoyed taking part in different activities. Some of the sensory classes took part in an online World book day presentation specially designed for students with Visual impairment and 4LW explored well known storylines and characters through the use of puppets.
At Heaton we want our students to learn about careers so as to give opportunity for them to learn about different jobs and places of work. Some students from the Cheadle campus went to a ‘50 Careers in 1 day’ event at the Manchester City Etihad Stadium this week. Students had the opportunity to learn about a variety of careers, talking to people representing different enterprises and also had a go at experimenting with some of the resources they had to offer. It was a great experience for all our students and all who attended enjoyed the experience. For some students it proved to be quite an inspiring event to attend.
Earlier today a Parent consultation letter was sent out to parents regarding a proposal for slightly adjusted times for the school day. Please have a read through the information provided. If you have any questions please do not hesitate in contacting us.
Reminder - next Friday (15th March) is Red Nose Day. Come 'dressed for money' for £1 and we look forward to having 'Heaton's got talent' in the afternoon.
Have a great weekend!
