Update from Post 16...

On Monday afternoon students from Ernie's class visited Chorlton Park to engage in a Work-Related Learning activity with the Friends of Chorlton Park community group. During this session, students participated in practical tasks that involved raking leaves, loading them into wheelbarrows, transporting the leaves to a compost bin, and emptying the contents – a process they repeated multiple times. This experience allowed students to follow two- and three-step verbal instructions, enhancing their listening and task-sequencing skills in a real-world setting. Through this activity, students gained hands-on experience in teamwork, responsibility, and environmental stewardship.

16+ students from the drama options group visited Romiley Forum last Wednesday to watch the stockport premiere of 'The Curious incident of the dog in the night time'. All students enjoyed the performance. For some students it was their first visit to the theatre watching a physical theatre play come to life. They were mesmerised and enjoyed the new experience.

Colin's class have been busy continuing with their work experience sessions in school: being responsible for collecting, sorting and emptying recycling bins and also checking and re-filling the first aid boxes. This week they have begun an additional work based task of helping to clean out the school minibuses.

Access to school/ Heaton site - In light of a recent review of our safety protocols we have made the decision to close our school gates at the Heaton site during the school day. The main car park / pedestrian gate will be closed from 10 - 2.30pm. We ask that anyone who is attending a meeting and/or is dropping off/ collecting later/ earlier parks on the surrounding roads and/or layby at the front of school. For families who require access to the disabled parking bays in the school car park we can make individual arrangements for access. Please do not hesitate in contacting the office for further information on this matter. Thankyou in advance for your cooperation with this change.

Parents evening - Thanks to all parents/carers who attended our parents evenings this week. It was great to see so many parents attend and we hope that the time with your childs teacher was informative.

Christmas Light festival - The PTA are putting on another christmas light festival this year. Due to the success of last year we are opting to put it on for two nights instead of one. The first night will be Saturday 30th November  (7-9pm) and Sunday 1st December (4-6pm) - see attached flyer.

All are welcome so please spread the word to friends, relatives and neighbours! We hope to raise some more funds to contribute towards the development of the school provision and facilities.
