Heaton News - WB 4th July

Date: 7th Jul 2022 @ 6:00pm

It has been so nice to have occasions where we can meet together with families. Being able to have a school Prom for the first time in 3 years was one of those occasions. A HUGE thankyou to everyone who made last night's leavers prom such a memorable experience for all students, parents/ carers and families who attended. It's safe to say everyone enjoyed themselves!

We will be sharing the professional photographs that were taken on the website once we receive them. Watch this space!

Over the coming months we will be sharing on the blog an introduction to different members of our amazing staff/ professionals who come school. Pam is our Visual Impairment Specialist who comes to work with a few of our students on a weekly basis

Pam writes...

My role at Heaton school is to provide direct teaching for those most affected by their sensory loss, in order to assess and develop functional skills, promote the use of other sensory access skills such as touch, and provide access advice to the teaching staff.
We also provide ongoing monitoring support to all pupils in school affected by sensory loss, in order to give specialist access advice to the teaching staff on how to enable the pupils to make optimal use of their functional vision/hearing to access the school curriculum.
