Heaton news - WB 2nd Sept

Date: 6th Sep 2024 @ 4:37pm

Welcome to academic year 2024/2025! It has been exciting to welcome our new year 7's - all of which have settled into school life extremely well.

Message from Andy...

As the school's new Headteacher it is really encouraging to see the hard work that took place behind the scenes last term leap into life! The new 'pathway' curriculum has been launched this week and I strongly believe we have a excellent staff team to move the school forward and in the right direction. Our newly appointed pathway leaders (Brydie, Holly and Kyle) are now in post and will be a great addition to the leadership team for the school moving forward. We also welcome Jen into her new role at Deputy Headteacher. Jen is going to oversee the curriculum whilst also continuing to lead on the development of the post 16 offer at both the Heaton site and Cheadle. There will be an opportunity very soon for you to come into school to hear more about our new curriculum, however please check out the information we have posted on the school website in the meanwhile:

My aim in the next year is to ensure that we continue to develop around our ethos of wanting our students to enjoy, be challenged and have every opportunity to celebrate diversity and acheive great things!  On our Inset days all staff discussed our ethos and what it means for our students. In their class teams they agreed some class intent statements that we look forward to sharing on the website for all to see! Also, in our celebration assembly today we shared these words with our students and recognised some of the ways in which we have seen this in action during the week. Here are some examples of students enjoying and being challenged in their lessons:

We are on an exciting journey at Heaton school and I am looking forward to working in partnership with all our Parents and Carers to ensure that our students get the best education possible. Together we can do this!

School PTA

At Heaton school we are also very keen to ensure that every opportunity is made to ensure that we work closely and effectively with parents. One way in which parents can get involved in our school life is to join our PTA. The next meeting is on Thursday 12th September at Beretto Lounge Red Rock @ 7PM. We welcome everyone and would love to see you there.

Have a great weekend everyone!
