Last weekend the PTA were succesful in arranging a wonderful display of lights for our Heaton light festival. A huge thanks to everyone who supported this event and we are pleased to announce that we made approximately £1800 which will go towards improving resources within school. Check out the video attached to this blog!
At Heaton school we take every opportunity to engage actively within our community. Last weekend the school took part in two christmas tree festivals within Stockport. At St Georges church Cheadle students worked on the theme of 'angels'. The heads were painted in ZofR colours according to feelings. They also made baubles to represent the ethos of school. At St Paul's CE church the tree was on the theme of woodlands. Students throughout the school contributed to the completed work so it was great to be able to share this with the wider community.
Today (Friday) we had a visit from some artistscalled Jennie and Louise. They delivered a session working with students from different classes. The theme of the session was climate change and a focus on protecting animals and their habitats. This project is part of the international 'build the change' lego project. Jennie worked with students (using lego) to make amazing habitats for different animals. As you can see the resulting creations were amazing!! In assembly all students who took part received a certificate for their amazing efforts!
And finally...
Here are a few other events coming up in the build up to the festive period...
Have a great weekend everyone!
