Heaton news - WB 26th June
Date: 29th Jun 2023 @ 10:21pm
Firstly, a big thankyou to all parents who attended this weeks parents evenings. We are aware that due to unforeseen circumstances a number of appointments had to be cancelled at short notice. We will endeavour to rearrange these appointments and details will be distributed once arrangements have been made.
Chelsea becomes famous...
It was a pleasure to see Heaton school's science achievements being celebrated with the wider world this week. Chelsea (the astronaut) has become a celebrity overnight! On Wednesday Chelsea's space antics were reported in the MEN and the BBC northwest news prorgamme at 6.30pm. On Thursday she made an appearance on newsround so has been seen by millions of school children around the country! Well done once again to everyone who made this project happen.
Work experience..
Some of our KS5 students have started their work experience placements this week. Romany is helping prepare meals for those in need, at Handy Ladies, Cheadle Heath. She made a fantastic start and the team are looking forward to working with her every Monday for the rest of term.
Goodbyes...
With sadness today we say goodbye to our Business Manager - the wonderful Anne Marie! Anne Marie has been at Heaton school for 15 years and will be missed by all staff, students and parents/carers. Students gave Anne Marie a send off in true Heaton style within assembly today and despite a tear or two being shed we wish her every success in her new Business Manager role at a school in Manchester.
Have a great weekend everyone!
