Heaton News - WB 22nd May

Today students from our sensory groups went along to witness the unveiling of Heaton schools artwork at Reddish Vale station. We are so proud of our students and it is great that they can share some of their work within our wider community.

Reccently we have been very taken aback by the generosity of people in helping to raise money for our school. Last Friday Jane Philpott (former Assistant Headteacher at Heaton School) came to our weekly assembly to present a cheque for the value of £2,000.  A huge thaks to West Heaton Bowling/ Tennis club for raising money by holding different activities from fancy dress nights, gin tasting sessions and pizza and wine evenings. Also, on Saturday some staff and students helped to raise approx £400 for school funds through running a stall outside COOP on Heaton Moor High Street. Thanks to Zarah who did a great job in manning the book stall!

Over the past few weeks Federico, Nathan, Nicole and Yusef have initiated a walking club at lunchtimes on the school MUGA. They have formed some great friendships in doing this whilst also getting some good exercise! So great to see!
