Firstly, a huge thankyou to everyone for their patience and understanding in relation to our unexpected Heaton site closures in the first week back. This situation was unprecedented and we recognise that it impacted both students and their families. Your support has been appreciated greatly.
The summer term is a great time to get out and about, engaging within the everyday local enviornment, whilst also enjoying the good weather! This week Amalias class enjoyed a class visit to Heaton park and farm. Elles class also enjoyed their trip to RHS Bridgewater. They enjoyed exploring the gardens, seeing their beautiful flowers. They experienced the herb garden with all of the different smells too. We also learnt about the jobs that different people have by helping the gardening team to water the plants

Our travel training group reached a major milestone today by catching the train from Stockport to Manchester Piccadilly for the very first time! The students were absolute stars, staying calm and following all safety rules while clearly enjoying the excitement of the journey. For this first trip, we focused on the experience of the ride itself and stayed within the station once we arrived. Our plan is to repeat this route over the coming weeks to help everyone become experts on the journey, from spotting potential hazards to building personal safety skills. It was a brilliant success and a huge step toward greater independence for everyone involved!

We hope everyone has a great bank holiday weekend and we will see everyone on Tuesday 5th May.
