I can't believe we are at the end of our first half term. A huge well done to all students for settling into their new classes and school year!
Cheadle students getting arty!
Students at the Cheadle site are currently preparing for an upcoming exhibition in school, so we visited the gallery for inspiration on how best to display the artwork the students have created over this past half-term. The group explored a wonderful variety of mediums similar to our own classroom work—including paintings, textured pieces, intricate patterns, fabric art,and clay sculptures.
A highlight of the trip was a special Textile Art exhibition from Japan, where the students were able to feel the different fabrics and truly immerse themselves in the tactile experience. They all had fun stepping into the world of landscape paintings and imagining what it would feel like to inhabit those scenes. We all agreed that one particular forest painting, complete with a figure hiding among the trees, was quite eerie—Noone was too eager to step inside that one!
Seasonal activities - Haloween
Elle’s class have been busy getting ready for the spooky season! Between carving pumpkins in Forest School, brewing witches’ potions in Attention Autism, and crafting monster masks in art, there has been plenty of seasonal fun!
School Disco!
To finish off our first term of the new school year, we held a disco in the school hall for the students.
