Heaton news - WB 16th June

Date: 20th Jun 2025 @ 4:31pm

Accessing the world beyond the school building is essential for our learners. This week a group of our older students accessed the Chill factore as part of the shapes alliance initiative. Students shared experiences, took their turn, used equipment safely, listened to directions (without support!) and stayed happy and calm throughout. This is fantastic example of what preparing our students for adulthood is all about. At the start their journey starts with community visits to the park or local shop. Well done to all students who took part!

This week has been National refugee week some students have been learning about the concept of safety and 'feeling safe' through making shelters in their classrooms.
