Heaton news - WB 15th June

Date: 19th Jun 2026 @ 4:57pm

Welcome to this week’s school blog! It has been an incredibly busy and vibrant week across all our classrooms, filled with global discoveries, creative arts, and wonderful conversations with our school community.

Here is a look at what our amazing students have been up to:

Around the World with the World Cup! Each class has been assigned a different country to focus on for our school-wide World Cup project. Over the last week, students have been diving deep into the culture, geography, and traditions of their respective teams.

It’s been fantastic to see our hallways transform with flags, facts, and artwork as the students embrace their team spirits.

In Hollys class they have been learning about Portugal.  Alongside learning about the country's famous football skills, the students have been exploring the traditional games that Portuguese children play at school. They’ve been practicing their turn-taking, team-building, and communication skills while trying out these fun, new playground activities.

Exploring Shapes Through Mark Making

In Beth’s class, they have been wonderfully tactile and creative in their mark making! The students have been exploring the world of geometry and shapes through mark making. This hands-on approach is fantastic for developing fine motor skills and spatial awareness!

A Huge Thank You to Our Parents/Carers

Finally, we want to extend a massive thank you to everyone who attended our Parents’ Evenings this week.

It was wonderful to welcome so many of you into the school to celebrate your children's incredible progress, share achievements, and look ahead to their next steps.Your continuous support, collaboration, and dedication mean the world to us. We truly value the strong partnership we have with our families—it’s what makes our school community so special.

Wishing you all a relaxing and happy weekend! Keep an eye out next week as we report on further school World Cup activities!
