Heaton news - WB 15th Dec

Another amazing term come to an end! It's been great to see students enjoying end of term activities these past 2 weeks which culminated in a celebration christmas themed assembly this afternoon. I also commend all staff and carers for ensuring that students have remained calm and students have continued to access their usual school routines - so important for many of our students. 

Last Friday students from both the Heaton and Cheadle site were treated to a performance of Beauty and the beast by M and M productions. We are so grateful to happy days who assisted us with funding for this opportunity. It was great to see students getting involved in the music, dancing and participating in the story. In the afternoon students at the Heaton site were treated to a festive performance by St Thomas's school choir. Today students enjoyed a festive themed disco. This is always an opportunity for classes to mix and enjoy each others company, develop their social experiences whilst also developing their communication skills too.

At our Cheadle site this week they enjoyed making and eating their very own christmas dinner. Ernie's group also enjoyed a trip out for a christmas drink.

I hope and trust that everyone has a peaceful christmas filled with happiness and joy. We look forward to seeing everyone again as we resume our academic year on Monday 5th January.
