Heaton News WB 13th Feb

Date: 16th Feb 2023 @ 5:12pm

Firstly, apologies that we couldn't have a weekly blog sent out last week - unfortunately our school website was not working but we are now up and running again.

At Heaton our students take part in different lessons where they learn about the world around us.

As part of  science 3KR have been learning about how animals adapt to their environment. They experienced trying to get food with various length “beaks” and catching paper insects with sticky “tongues”. They also learnt about how animals camouflage themselves.

A trip (alongside Ernie's class) to Chester zoo was a great way to consolidate their learning whilst also having fun out in the community too!

I suspect two of the animals may have even escaped to Heaton school staffroom!!

Students at the Cheadle site have been working on a project where they have been doing a ‘Grand Tour’ of all different countries. Over the past two weeks they have researched New York , done some chalk graffiti , made pizzas and also created some posters.

It was great to see families attending last nights 'Dine and Dance' event. Thanks to Kevin for his amazing cooking and for being willing to do a cooking demonstration for parents. Fun was had by all!
