Heaton news - WB 12th Sept

Over the next few weeks our blog is going to focus on different aspects of our school curriculum. This week a focus is on lifeskills and work related learning.
From year 7 to year 13/14 our students have wide opportunities to learn and develop their work based skills. Amalia's group have recently relaunched their Heaton curry house enterprise where the students prepare curry to then serve to the school community in the afternoon. The school hall is changed into a restaurant. Students practice their communication skills when taking orders, whilst also honing their hospitality skills.
Commemorating the Queen
Today (Friday) we had an extended assembly in honour of the queen. We learnt about the queen and the significance of having a new King. Special thanks to Yasmin's group who shared the crowns they had made in class and also to Kaitlin who said a prayer at the end. We have attached some useful visuals you may find helpful to use with your child over the coming weekend.

Quick reminder that in honour of the Queen's funeral school will NOT be open on Monday 19th September. We will see everyone on Tuesday morning ready for another fabulous week!
