Zen den - mental health awareness
As part of Mental Health Awareness Week this October, students stepped away from the hustle and bustle of school life to discover our "Zen Den"—a dedicated quiet sanctuary designed for relaxation, mindfulness, and emotional well-being. Soft lighting, comfortable seating, ambient background sounds and calming activities were on offer to all. The overwhelming response was inspiring and students enjoyed their experience and practiced different ways to regulate and help themselves to remain calm.

Cheadle Cafe
Yesterday afternoon, students from the Cheadle Campus had the absolute pleasure of opening their café to their Post-16 friends from the main Heaton site. It was truly heartwarming to see our students' faces light up as they welcomed their visitors, caught up with old friends, and shared our space together. It was a really special afternoon.

Learning through music
This week Colins class have been developing their sharing and turn taking skills using choral music. They have used ‘blob opera’ to make their own operatic compositions on the interactive whiteboard.

A request for help from Omni Music...
OmniMusic is supporting Lifelites and DJS Research, an independent research agency, to better understand the experiences of children and families who have used technology and support provided through their programmes.
We recently received a very generous £25,000 grant from Lifelites for accessible music technology, including many of the instruments your child may have been using during their OmniMusic sessions at school. Lifelites would love to hear from families whose children have used this technology to help them understand the impact of their grant.
Once you’ve completed the survey, you can also opt in to take part in an online interview lasting approximately 45 minutes. You would receive £40 as a thank you for taking part. All responses will be treated confidentially and reported anonymously.
Therapy Open evening update
The planned Therapy open evening for next Wendesday (21st October) is now being rescheduled for after half term. Once the date is confirmed you will receive notification via Teachers2parents
Published Ofsted report
We are delighted with the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection. All families have been sent a copy of the report and it will be published next week. Under the new scorecard system we were judged to be meeting expected standards in all areas with safeguarding being met. This is a true reflection of alot of hard work to ensure that our offer is right for our students and that students are given the best opportunities in their learning. Thankyou for your ongoing support and partnership. Together we now move towards strengthening the foundations that have been established!
Have a great weekend!
