Heaton news - WB 11th Nov
Date: 15th Nov 2024 @ 12:55pm
On Monday Students learnt about remembrance day and it's significance to us today. As a mark of respect for people who have died in service students took part in the 2 minute silence and reflection within their classroom at 11am. Also, Oliver (a student from Elles class) represented the school at Stockport’s Remembrance Day Service at the Stockport war memorial . He watched cadets and veterans parade through the streets and gather at the War Memorial Art Gallery with the Mayor. Maroon rockets rung out, and two minutes silence was observed. Oliver took a very special wreath (created by the students in Elle’s class) and joined lots of people from the community in adding poppy wreaths to the steps to pay respects.
Children in need 2024
Thanks to all parents and carers and carers who attended our children in need cake sale this morning. To raise money for this worthy cause we had a non uniform day and students from the Heaton site enjoyed their 'dance off' in the afternoon. Thanks to Brydie for arranging today's events.
