Heaton School is Stockport’s Secondary Special School for  young people with Severe learning difficulties, Profound and Multiple learning difficulties, Autism and Complex Medical Needs. Our school is well established in Stockport and is a very strong community of children and young people, families, staff and other partners.

The school is set on 2 sites. The main school site is in Heaton Moor while in September 2021 the school opened its Cheadle Heath Campus to expand and enhance provision for Post 16 learners. This specialist site is designed to provide a stepping stone from Heaton to Further Education.

Heaton School is a place where Enjoyment is at the heart of all learning that takes place.

Students access a varied curriculum within both our core and sensory offer. Teachers are commited to ensuring that students are challenged to develop their communication, social and lifeskills in readiness and preparation for adulthood. 

Students become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens - something we continually Celebrate throughout the year. Heaton school have a student and staff population from various cultural backgrounds. Diversity and Inclusion is actively celebrated throughout the calendar year.
